We bought this because we have a deep freezer in our garage and there are other things on that GFCI outlet. We wanted to know if there was a power loss to the deep freezer and purchased this Power Failure Adaptor. In just 6 days it paid off as the breaker was flipped and the deep freezer lost power. We were notified via text and within a minute I had reset the GFCI and restored power to the freezer, saving hundreds of dollars in lost freezer goods. I like that I can edit the message sent.

I use My Spool in my motorhome. I have had some power failures at the storage facility resulting in the batteries going down. It is also important to know if we are traveling and have a power failure at a park as we have two small dogs that need air conditioning. It was easy to set up. When testing I get an email and text if the power goes out and also when power is restored.

This solved a critical problem for when I'm away from home for extended periods of time. I have two dedicated freezers in my garage for game meat from hunts and other perishables. In the past, the GFCI has tripped while I was away and I lost all my frozen goods.

Florida: I have one of those outdoor kitchens, with fridge, uncovered. Outlets on the sides with some outlets inside. That thing would trip all of the time. Figured out I needed to re-seal the outside outlets. No power trips for like 4 months. Then we had a huge storm roll through. I mean HUGE. GFCI Tripped. I had no idea it tripped and all of my beer got hot because the fridge was off for 3 days. Enter MySpool. Setup was super easy. Tested it a few times and got emails and texts when power was off or restored. PERFECT!!!! I don't care about the incidental GFCI trips, but I do want my beer nice and cold. Thanks to MySpool, I never have to even wonder if the fridge is tripped or not.

Update 6/10/24: Transformer blew out in front of my house on Saturday for no other reason than being original from 1987 per the technician working it. The Power Outage detector sent me a text and email that power was out, then another text and email when power was restored. So, it did it's job. Hopefully it continues to do it.

Just bought this Power failure detector about 2 weeks ago (5/30/24), so I can't say for sure if it will do what is intended for, but still wanted to try it out. We were out of town for a few days, and due to a Roundup gallon somehow cracking and leaking on an extension cord that was plugged in the garage, a GFI breaker that only controls the garage tripped. Lost everything in the outdoor Fridge/freezer. That sucks to come home to. Hopefully this Power failure detector will give me a quick enough notification that if this would happen again and if home, can handle myself or I'd be able to contact someone for assistance. I did test it. Just unplugged it and got an email and a text message that power was lost. Waited a few minutes, plugged it back in and again got an email and text message that power was back on. That's exactly what I want to happen. Hopefully the product lasts. I'll update review in the future after having more experience with it.

We have a backyard pond, and, for a while, the power kept getting knocked out when a GFI breaker would trip. So we wanted to be made aware of when the power was out rather than constant checking it. Knowing if the power was out was important since the air pump and filtration was needed for the health of the fish. This device worked great and was fairly easy to set up. When we had questions about set up or how to add more numbers for text notifications, customer service was very responsive and very helpful. I would recommend this device if you need to know if power has been lost or restored to a remote location or area of your home.

Love it so far, one power outage, and was notified immediately. Just thinking outside the box, this might be a great product for a generator. When it runs out of gas, power source down, followed by a notification. Priceless!

I purchased this for our RV so I would know when we went off grid due to power loss from shoreline before my batteries were worn down overnight or when away. Set in 5 minutes and it texts and emails me each time power goes out or back on. Works as designed and advertised.

This power failure detector is monitoring my garage beer fridge and my food chest freezer. In the event of a power failure or a tripped breaker I will receive a notification so I can respond before food thaws and spoils. I have previously had to throw out food and skunked beer so I’m very glad I ran across this device. This was simple to setup and test. Hopefully I will never hear from it but if I do, I will have plenty of time to correct the power outage. Money well spent!

I set this up on my boat to inform me when the shore power goes out. I have had problems in the past that were very expensive caused by power outages. The sensor was easy to set up and was working within 5 minutes. I have the same sensor in a remote located weekend home in the desert it’s been there for 2 years. I have the peace of mind that I know in advance before a simple problem turns into a messy and expensive issue.

We were notified of power outage. We called power company (as we are the only house on breaker) and they restored our power. This saved us from our 3rd loss this year from food spoilage! Well worth the purchase!

Within a few days of setting up this device it worked exactly as promised! We have had an ongoing issue with the circuit that our garage freezer is on. Usually we only discover it by accident only after opening thw freezer and finding things partialy thawed. in this instance we were notified immediatly and were able to reset the GFI outlet that was the source of the problem.

First actual outage happened a few days ago and bingo, got the text and the email before I even notice we were off grid. My new solar system is setup to supply critical loads and a few lights during utility outage so I wanted an independent notification that utility was down.. Highly recommend.

Got this because GFCI outlet in my garage keeps popping randomly, and I have my chest freezer hooked up to it. Lost full freezer of meat and ice cream because of the outlet.
Got the detector, install was easy, just follow the guide.
The very next day the outlet popped again in the middle of the day. I got a text message at work and asked my neighbor to come by and turn it back on. Well worth the money! Pretty much payed for itself first time it activated!

I want you to know that I put my latest power alert on my water well pump. Your little box alerted me to a rapid cycling problem on my pump. (Downhole or submersible pumps are good equipment: run great. Just like any electric motor - starting kills them. Long running times = no problem.)  Your power alert, installed this week, showed me that my pump was stopping and starting about every 1.5 minutes. FOUND THE PROBLEM AND FIXED. You saved me thousands of dollars. Thanks. (PS I’m a PhD Registered Professional Electrical Engineer since 1969)

I had purchased this for a friend who lost power to her freezer and had a rather messy clean up. We installed hers and thought, I should get these for us. I put it off; however, bought one for us after the GFI outlet our main refrigerator is on tripped; however, we were home and saw it. I now have one of these on the main refrigerator and one on the outlet for the basement refrigerator and big freezer. Fast forward, and we were on vacation for over a week. Three days into it I get a text alert and email that the main refrigerator lost power. We called a friend who reset the GFI outlet. Over the course of a week, this happened three times, each time receiving alerts that we lost power and when our friend restored power. Without this device, we would have never known the refrigerator lost power and come home to ruined hard wood floors from melted ice and a major mess in the refrigerator. This device truly saved our bacon and then some.

This is a real Food Saver for me! I purchased this a couple weeks ago to monitor my outdoor refrigerator and freezer. The power dropped and I didn't realize it for 2 days and nearly lost 200 lbs of beef.
I searched local retail stores and nobody offered a device like this. Amazon never fails![Ed. note: this should read MySpool never fails!] I found this, ordered it , and it arrived quickly. With a simple setup process I was online within 15 minutes. Two days ago a storm came thru Vegas and tripped my outdoor GFI. We were out to dinner when I received my text notifying me of the outage. Once we got home I reset the GFI and my freezer was still at -11°. It's already paid for itself!

Setup was quick and easy and the unit works as expected. Using it to monitor my freezer in the basement. This circuit tripped once in the past and I was lucky to catch it before the contents thawed out.

Thank you for the great device!  I wanted you all to know that just 3 days after the install, I received a text at 5:15 in the morning.  I was heading to my coffee pot at the time.  I have my device in my garage to monitor my GFI on my freezer outlet.  It trips about once a year and I have lost a full freezer of food twice in 15 years.  Well I figured your box was defective and walked out the garage cursing under my breath.  I mean,,, I hadn't had my damned coffee yet!  But low and behold!!!!!!!!!  the GFI tripped!  You saved me a half-full freezer of meat!!!!!!!!  Thank you!!!!!  this thing is amazing and I'll be ordering another for my sump pump circuit and any other place I can find a use for one!
